Upcoming Pack, District & Council Activities
GOAL: NATIONAL SUMMERTIME PACK AWARD!
We have been working hard on preparing a Spring and Summer Pack Event Calendar. Our plan is to have an event each month during the summer as a pack so we can achieve our goal of earning the National Summertime Pack Award!
Some of the final details are still in the works, and most of the final planning has to do with the number of people that will be in attendance. The purpose of this list is to give you not only the dates of upcoming activities, but as much info on the activity as we can.
Final planning needs to be done by the April Pack Meeting, so let Rachel or Dominic Valentino know which events you'll be attending -- ASAP!
These events are sponsored by the Pack, District and/or Council. The events that are just for our Pack 481 are in red and bolded.
Feel free to attend everything and anything that's offered!
MARCH
Saturday, 3/28 - CHILLER SCOUT NIGHT
- At Chiller North from 5-8pm
- Scouts attend for FREE
- $5 per person for family and friends
APRIL
Saturday, 4/25 - EARTH DAY CONSERVATION AT INDIAN VILLAGE
Mr. Nydegger is working hard on planning a few activities for our Pack to participate in that will give our scouts an opportunity to earn the conservations awards. The first is The Conservation Good Turn Award (click to see detailed flyer).
MAY
Saturday, 5/9 - CREW SCOUT NIGHT (click to see detailed flyer)
This awesome package includes:
- Private autograph sessions with Crew players
- Overnight camp out at Crew Stadium
- Shoulder Patch
- Reserved Seating
- Sunday morning breakfast
- Private demonstrations with the players
- Pre-game field access
COST: $23 (if camping at stadium) $16 (if not camping at stadium)
Saturday, 5/9 - SWAMP ROMP (click to see detailed flyer)
This annual conservation project (stream cleanup) is held in conjunction with the city of Upper Arlington and local Boy Scout and Girl Scout units. This is a RAIN or SHINE event! Meet between at 8:30-9:00 am at the Thompson Park North Shelter House for registration.
Friday, 5/15 - CLIPPERS SCOUT NIGHT
The Columbus Clippers Camporee at the new Huntington Park. Tickets include:
- Pre-game autograph session
- Post game movie
- Breakfast

Friday, 5/15 - SCOUT NIGHT AT THE CIRCUS
You and your Scout are invited to Scout Night with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. This offer also gives an exclusive clinic beforehand and circus themed Patch.
Saturday - Sunday, 5/16-17 PACK 481 SPRING CAMPOUT
Our pack's annual spring camp out at Chief Logan Reservation in Chillicothe, OH.
RSVP & PAYMENT due by May 1, 2009 -- as stated earlier, final details depend on the number of participants!
COST: Similar to past camp outs which average $5 per person
Saturday, 5/23 - Memorial Day Flag Placement at Cemetery
Last year our Pack joined local VFW Posts, American Legion Posts, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and other members of our community in placing flags at the graves of veterans. This is done early on the Saturday morning before Memorial Day and doesn't take long. Watch for the upcoming details in April. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Scouts to take part in a tradition that honors our Veterans.
JUNE
Saturday, 6/6 - Rocket Rally
Similar to the Rocket Launch we did in the fall. Details are still in the works -- look for more information to come!
Monday-Wednesday, 6/29-7/1 - Buckeye Districtc Day Campout (click to see detailed flyer)
This year, Buckeye District is having daycamp at Camp Lazarus. Daycamp is a great opportunity for each and every scout to work on achievements, work on electives, meet other scouts, learn new things and have FUN! FUN! FUN!. Our Daycamp Coordinator is Rachel Valentino -- please contact her with questions!
JULY
Friday -Sunday, 7/24-26 - Pack 481 Summer Campout
This campout is expected to be held at Hocking Hills State Park. This is a 2 night trip because of the distance and the wonderful opportunities this park offers. Again, this is one of those events where plans can't be finalized until we have a firm number of attendees. Let us know ASAP if you plan to join us for our Pack's Summer Camp out!
